NSE Handles ₹1971 Cr Transactions In A Day
The NSE crossed a significant milestone on Wednesday as it handled the highest number of transactions recorded in a single day, according to data from the National Stock Exchange, a testi mony to the growing partici pation of investors and traders in India’s financial markets, as well as the NSE’s capability to handle such high volumes of activity seamlessly The NSE’s Man- aging Director and Chief Ex ecutive Officer, Ashishkumar Chauhan, announced the achievement on social media platform X.
In a trading session that lasted 6 hours and 15 minutes, from 9:15 am to 3:30 pm, the NSE processed an unprece dented 1971 crore (19.71 bil lion) orders. The total number of trades executed during the day reached 28.55 crore (280.55 million) The milestone achieved even as the markets were recouping after they re ported their worst session in four years on Tuesday when vote counting trends revended that the Bharatiya Jarata Party wouldn’t secure the majority to form a govern ment on its own. The market surge came after constituents of the BJP-led National Dem ocratic Alliance pledged sup port to form a government for the third term.
With that, benchmark equity indices Sensex and Nifty made a strong come back, spiking over 3 per cent each. Recovering from the post-result slump, BSE’s 30 share Sensex jumped 2,303.19 points or 3.30 per cent on value buying in auto, oil, banking shares. The NSE Nifty climbed 735.5 points or 236 per cent to fouch 22.630.35
